Well, I figured it's high time I write an update. I know my page has been lacking but I'm not one for "blogging". I can't believe another year has gone by so quickly. I still love my job and have been fortunate to work with great people. We finally took a vacation, just the two of us. We went on a Caribbean cruise and cannot wait to go again. I started a Master's degree at George Mason University this Fall and have two classes out of the way (only 8 more to go). We are excited for Christmas and the time we'll get to spend with our families.

Well, well, well...looks like it's time for an update. As some of you know we spent last week out in Indiana with Joey's family, which was so fun for us, although our visits always seem too short. We learned a new game (baggo, Cornhole, or about 5 other names), as is customary when all of us Heth kids get together. The game is addicting but so fun. I would relate the game to horseshoes except in baggo you throw beanbags and try to get them in a hole on a board. You can check out our pictures to see what I'm talking about. In other news, we met Julie's boyfriend Adam who begrudgingly won Joey's approval. We always give Joey a hard time because he tries to put on the "tough brother" front but in reality he has such a tender heart that he can't follow through on being mean! Sorry Joe! Needless to say, we were very impressed with Adam.

We have had a great Memorial Day weekend! Joe took the day off on Friday so it has been a wonderful 4-day weekend for us! I got to do a little shopping on Friday while Joe stayed home programming to his heart's content. On Saturday, Joey took me to a new park with a few wooded trails and a field where we threw the frisbee for awhile. Our church had it's annual churchwide picnic Sunday afternoon so we ventured out to that and then spent the evening with the youth pastor and his amazing family consisting of 9 children and his wife. Great family! We went swimming and then back to their house for tons of ice cream (be still my heart!) and a movie. Today is a day of bumming and preparing for the week ahead. We head to Indiana on Thursday so we are really looking forward to that!

It always amazes me how music has the ability to evoke such emotion in me. Joey is contently working on his laptop in the living room as I sit in my office finishing up some paperwork. Listening to Michael Buble's "Home" just makes me feel so content being "home" with Joey. I can hardly believe tomorrow will be three years that we have been married. In ways it seems like we've been married only months and yet in other ways I feel like we've always been together. The way he makes me laugh all the time. The cute way he calls from work just to say a simple "hello" throughout his day. The way he always wants to be in the same room as me makes me realize how blessed I am to have him for my husband. Makes me sad to hear about women who are abused and battered...why did I get the best and they live in such pain, Lord?

Happy Anniversary, Joseph. "I (truly) am the luckiest."

First of all, let me just say how terrible we are at keeping things updated on our site. Not the best way of keeping people coming back. So, this is my initial attempt at giving somewhat regular updates. Since my last update involved us just finding out we won the contract on our condo, I have some catching up to do. We love our new place, the extra space, the projects (at least I like these!), the feeling that this place is "ours" (we try to ignore the mortgage companies). Since our move at the end of August, things have been fairly uneventful. We celebrated my 26th birthday and Joey's 25th, which made me start to thing "I'm getting old." Such is life.

My business really began to pick up speed this year, which is so exciting for me. I thoroughly love being home throughout the day doing graphic design work for weddings, parties, businesses and websites. This is definitely what I am supposed to be doing.

My other passion at this point is working with the senior high youth group at our church in Reston. It has been so rewarding and just continues to show me ways to love, understand, and positively influence teens, hopefully preparing me to be a mother of teens one day myself.

On a lighter note, my show Gilmore Girls ended the season this week and I must say it was a disappointment. My GG companion Jaime and I talk each night after the weekly episode and we both agree we're wondering where the show is going to go from here. Loralie, you disappointed me! Logan, this was the first time I started to like you. Alas, the show will go on and I will be there each Tuesday night (unless we have a high school lacrosse game or something to attend, and then my not-so-trusted VCR will help me out) on the couch, faithful 'til the end.

And so with that, I will end this longer than anticipated update.

P.S. I'm on the last book of the Left Behind series now.
